What is Envision Wood Buffalo?

Envision Wood Buffalo is an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) that will provide direction for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo to achieve community sustainability objectives that enhance environmental, cultural, social and economic dimensions of its identity. Using sustainable planning practices and input from public engagement, Envision Wood Buffalo will guide the Municipality into the future.

What will Envision Wood Buffalo look like?

Envision Wood Buffalo will have the following elements:

Statement – the Statement of Sustainability for the region.
Sustainability Principles – ‘guiding principles’ that if followed, will lead the region to a more sustainable future.
Regional Goals – measurable and specific actions that will lead the Municipality towards sustainability.

An implementation plan will be created in 2010 to outline how the Municipality and stakeholder organizations can implement Envision Wood Buffalo findings.
